Since
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, WOCA
is joining forces with several communities statewide
for its biggest awareness campaign to date: Turn
the Towns Teal. You'll see teal ribbons
around trees. Posters hanging in stores, gas stations,
town halls and other buildings. Public service announcements
on the jumbotron at Miller Park. In fact, here's
a preview of everything "teal"
that will be happening:
Tuesday, September 2: Our Turn Miller Park Teal
event. WOCA is selling special ticket packages and
throwing out the first pitch at the Brewers Game
at 7:05PM against the Mets. Please join us in the
loge outfield seats on the 3rd base side. It'll
be a great night of baseball for a good cause --
bring friends or the whole family! Tickets are $25
and include a t-shirt. Call Sandi Wagner at (414)248-9631
to place your order.
Friday, September 5: Wear anything that's
the color teal to
show your support for the National Ovarian Cancer
Awareness Day. It's a simple way to build awareness
and a
good excuse to buy something new that's teal!
Also happening this day is our Tea for Teal
event in Fort Atkinson.
Saturday September 6: Lace up your walking or running
shoes and join us at WOCA's Third Annual Nancy's
Run Rock 'N Stroll in conjunction with TosaFest
in downtown Wauwatosa. The 5K Run and 2-Mile fun
walk begins at 5:30PM, with a kid's race at 4:00PM.
Enjoy a beautiful route through the Menomonee River
Parkway and all of the TosaFest activities. Cost
is $17 ($20 on race day) for individuals or $50
($60 on race day) for families up to 4. For more
details, contact, Valarie Nolin, Race Director,
