JOHANNA'S LAW ADVOCATES

WORKING TO SECURE

$9 MILLION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008

The Alliance, our partners, and grass-roots advocates are urging Congress to fund $9 Million for Fiscal Year '08 for Johanna's Law : The Gynecologic Education and Awareness Act.

Congress has approved and President Bush has signed Johanna's Law, but it does not include any appropriations because it is an authorizing measure.

Johanna's Law authorizes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to develop an awareness and education campaign on gynecologic cancers. It is named Johanna Silver Gordon, who died from ovarian cancer in 2000.
